I was approached by the family of a blacksmith who had sadly passed away to design and make a memorial bench to their father, Derek Walder. Derek was a traditional smith and so I wanted the design and manufacture to reflect this. Also incorporated in the design were to be his other passions of sport, namely football and cricket. I tried to fit as many blacksmithing details in its construction as I could.
