Double bed

Project Overview

I was asked if I could make a double bed in forged steel to go in a Tudor farmhouse in Worcestershire. The customers wanted a simple design but all of the material textured. We decided that it would be made in a traditional way with punched holes, hot rivet and threaded tenon construction and these would be the main features of the bed frame. The legs were made of 40mm square section with jumped up feet and terminals. The finish chosen in the end was powder coated black; the customers had originally wanted a hot wax finish but it was decided that this would probably mark the white bed linen.
